About
My approach
Precise, timeless, elegant and contemporary tattooing — 7 years in, working out of Boston.
The work
Range, not a single lane
I call what I do blackwork as an umbrella term, but my interests in tattooing are multifaceted and wide ranging. That runs from deconstructed, high contrast blackwork through to exceptionally smooth and finely rendered black and grey realism, with fineline and ornamental work in between. If you think I might be interested in an idea that seems to align with my visual aesthetic sensibilities, I probably am.
What holds it together is intent. Every piece is drawn for one person and one placement, and the goal is always work that still reads well years from now.
Process
Designing on the body
A design that looks balanced flat on a piece of paper often collapses once it is wrapped around an arm or a ribcage. So for larger projects I plan and draw on the body itself, letting the composition answer to your anatomy and to whatever is already tattooed there.
I will tell you plainly when an idea needs to be bigger, simpler, or placed somewhere else to work. That conversation happens before we book, not on the day.

What to expect
Send the idea, placement and rough size. We talk it through, I recommend an appointment format, and I give you an estimate based on the design, size, placement and complexity. Rates are $200 / hour and $1,200 / full day.
Studio address and arrival details are shared privately once your appointment is confirmed. I work with clients from across Greater Boston.
Let's talk about your tattoo.
Tell me the idea, the placement and roughly how much room you have. I'll come back with a direction, a format and an estimate.
